Catholic Life & Mission
‘When Jesus is asked which is the greatest commandment, the answer is the same in all three of the Gospels in which the question is asked: to love God with all your mind, heart, soul and strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself. This call to love is at the heart of the educational mission of every Catholic school.
At St Francis Catholic school, we aim to make the person of Jesus Christ known and loved by our children, our staff and our community. We place Him and the teachings of the Catholic Church at the centre of all that we do.
Our Mission Statement
Jesus said: ‘Love one another as I have loved you.’
St Francis School is a loving community, respecting every child and adult and caring for God's world, as we help each other to do our best and grow together in Christ.

Musical Celebration - 20th June 2026
The school recently held a musical concert involving pupils from across the school. The afternoon included recorder performances, piano solos and choir songs giving pupils the opportunity to perform in front of an audience and share their talents and demonstrate their enthusiasm.
Prior to their final performance, children from Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in activities inspired by their musical theatre production The Button Box. Through the story, they explored themes of diversity, belonging and celebrating differences. We listened to and responded to music from a range of cultures around the world, giving the children opportunities to experience different languages, rhythms, instruments and styles of singing. The children particularly enjoyed discussing how music can bring people together and express feelings and traditions from different communities.
Thank you to Mrs Stone for teaching and preparing the children so well for their performance of The Button Box.
